Where you'll play
Whistling Straits (Straits Course)
Host of 2021 Ryder Cup and 3 PGA Championships. Links-style on Lake Michigan cliffs. Walking with caddie only. Budget $175+ for caddie+tip. Over 1,000 bunkers.
Whistling Straits (Irish Course)
Inland links style. More playable than Straits but still demanding. Walking with caddie available. Great value compared to Straits.
Blackwolf Run (River Course)
Pete Dye masterpiece through the Sheboygan River valley. Hosted 2012 US Women's Open. Many consider it the best course on property.
Blackwolf Run (Meadow Valleys)
More open than River Course. Good warm-up for the bigger courses. Still a serious Pete Dye test.

Insider tips
The Straits is the bucket list course but Blackwolf Run River might actually be the better course. Play both.
Caddie fees at Straits: $75/person + tip (15-20%). Budget $175 total per player with caddie.
Book a 36-hole day: Straits in the morning, Irish in the afternoon for best value.
Summer in Wisconsin is gorgeous — 75-80°F, long days, green everything. Best time is July-August.
Stay at Inn on Woodlake instead of American Club — same course access, $100+/night cheaper.
